Wednesdays at 1 PM ET – 60 minutes
This 60-minute chair-based class is suitable for anyone looking to incorporate some simple movement and breathing practices into their day. (Note that a sturdy chair with a back and no arms is best for our practice, but you may participate from any comfortable seat that allows your feet to rest on the ground.)
I would describe this class as generally being a gentle warm-up and check in with our bodies. It falls somewhere between light and moderate physical activity, depending on the options chosen by the student. I provide opportunities for a bit of additional physical exertion, but the focus of this class is much more about exploring the sensations and experience of being in your body than it is about getting a ‘work out’. We conclude our class with a brief meditation or centering, with multiple options for how you can choose to participate.
Thursdays at 8 PM ET – 60 minutes
Gentle yoga for winding down for the evening. Taught for practicing in bed, but suitable for lying on a mat as well. (I recommend having blankets and pillows nearby for extra comfort if practicing out of bed). Pajamas are welcome, as is falling asleep during class! I take it as a compliment.
We start with a basic centering, some focus on breathing naturally and slowly and do some gentle body mobility exercises. This is followed by longer holds in supportive postures like twists and forward bends using pillows and blankets to make each position as comfortable as possible. We close with a short gratitude practice and options for a brief meditation and/or relaxation.
Options are given for people with all levels of fitness, flexibility and experience. Everyone is welcome at this yoga pajama party!
Monthly Community Classes
These classes are offered free of charge for everyone! Note that any donation based class can be taken free of charge by typing “0” in the ‘donation amount’ section on my registration page.
All Welcome Community Yoga
1st Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM ET – 90 minutes
A donation optional community-centered yoga practice space for everyone! Class starts and ends with open space for introductions and discussion. Our yoga lesson is a gentle class that can be practiced on a mat or in a chair (or both!). Multiple options are given for each exercise, as well as time to check in with yourself to decide what works best for you. I will never tell you how you “should” look or feel and you are welcome to participate as much or as little as you’d like. I lead a short meditation and gratitude practice after our movement time with multiple options to participate. This is a space for love and kindness. Please leave everything else at the door. 🙂
Yoga for the Bunnies
2nd Sunday of the month at 7:00 PM ET – 60 minutes
Join me and my wonderful rabbit companions for a 1 hour yoga class that you can take in a chair or on a mat! This is a low pressure, simple movement class that provides options for people of all experience levels and physical ability. There is space for a short (optional) meditation or relaxation at the end of class. I also give an introduction to my rabbits and speak about the experience of having house rabbits as pets, volunteering at a rabbit rescue and the work that we do as an organization.
I charge nothing for this class. All are welcome. I do ask that you consider making a contribution to EveryBunny Counts Rabbit Rescue in whatever amount is accessible to you by clicking here. Rainbow Space – Queer & Trans Yoga
3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM ET – 75 minutes
A monthly connection building, celebration and relaxation space for members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We start and end our time together with sharing and discussion. The yoga portion of our meeting places particular emphasis on trauma-informed techniques, gender neutral invitational language, self acceptance and empowerment. This is a gentle movement and breathing lesson that is mostly chair based, but provides options for students to practice on a mat. I also give options for various types of meditation and centering practices
Sliding Scale Pricing
All weekly classes are priced using a sliding scale model. This means that I offer three prices for my offerings to help address wealth disparities in our society: Supporter, Sustainer and Community rates. The graphic below, designed by the wonderful Alexis J. Cunningfolk of Worts & Cunning Apothecary, describes several financial situations and where they fall on the sliding scale. Please do your best to select the rate that most accurately reflects your experience. If the Community rate is still financially inaccessible to you, please contact me to discuss additional payment options and scholarships!
If group classes aren’t your thing, or you desire a deeper guided study, private classes may be a good fit. I offer class slots of varying length and content to accommodate whatever time you have available.
